Unfortunately, the spiritual rellationship was lost by man due to not adhering to the one thing God told him not to do: “…not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…” (Genesis 2:17). The result of doing so was, “…in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:17). Obviously the body and soul part of man did not die that day. Adam and Eve lived on for many years since committing that error. What died was the spiritual connection.

It took the son of God, Jesus Christ, to pay the ultimate price with his own sacrifice to provide salvation, so that man could once again be whole: body, soul and spirit.

I Peter 1:18a; 19 & 21:
Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

Hebrews 5:9:
And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

God’s loving grace allowed man to simply believe on His son and that God raised him from the dead. Man would then receive salvation. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8). God now regained that treasured relationship with man. Man could now be born again with incorruptible seed (I Peter 1:23). Man now knew he belonged to God, “…because He hath given us of His spirit.” (I John 4:13).

Ephesians 1:13:
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
