Sons and Daughters of True Liberty

Inherent in every human being is the desire to be free. What do I mean by free? Being unencumbered by laws and resolutions, or freedom to choose your heart’s desire, or even be independent.

These are all noble freedoms many treasure, but there is a freedom that overlaps the ones above. And that is being released from the fears of this world.

The greatest limiting factors that bind any person is not necessarily rules and regulations, and not being free to choose. But it is the attacks of the adversary by way of promoting hear to discourage us from trusting God. True Liberty is being released from the fears of this world.

II Timothy 1:7:
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

There is only one man who has ever been able to secure the blessings of liberty for all mankind and that is Jesus Christ. “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36.

What To Do With It

Our privilege and responsibility as sons of God is to stand on the truth that made us free. Paul and Silas had quite an opportunity along these lines as false brethren spied out their liberty in Christ as recorded in Galatians:

Galatians 2:3-5 (NKJV):
Yet not even Titus who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage),
to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.

What a bold stand! What an astonishing example for us today. It is the Word of God that lays out the truth by which we can trust in. As Christian believers we do not have to cater to worldly fear. We have the mighty Scriptures to refresh our mind constantly so our confidence can be in our Heavenly Father.
