A TALE OF TWO BRAINS
[SCENE: A natural man’s brain is all of sudden confronted with the “mind of Christ” (I Cor. 2:16). Its arrival is a result of the person’s confession of Romans 10:9 thereby becoming a born again Christian.]
“Hey! Who are you? How did you get in here?”
“I’m the mind of Christ. Your person (and now my person) got saved by believing God’s Word and is now filled with the gift of holy spirit which is Christ in you. And this includes the mind of Christ.”
“What was my person thinking!? Listen buddy, I have been here a long time and have provided everything my person needs. And now you come along! What have you to offer?”
“As the gift of holy spirit, I bring a permanent connection with the Creator God; as well as, eternal life, the love of God and nine manifestations just to name a few of the things.”
“That is all so nice and I get it. You are welcome to be used an hour on Sundays but that is it! And anyway how is our person going to utilize all of what you have? He has been saturated with worldly thoughts and ideas. There is no room for another brain.”
“Our person has freedom of will to choose. And he can decide to renew his mind to his new identity as a child of God with Christ within.”
“We will see about that! I will not give up without a fight.”
“I am sorry natural mind brain, he is going to be using you less and me more. In fact he will be cleaning out all the negative junk you have provided and putting on all that he is in Christ. I call it the renewed mind:”
Ephesians 4:22 – 24: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[Prologue: The key to the success of any person is receiving the new birth and his decision to renew his mind to the greatness of God’s Word. We have so much to look forward to, as we, “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2 ESV.]
