Outside of God's love, there is no greater, lasting feeling than the joy of the Lord.

WHAT IS JOY? Joy is that inside, deep feeling of great pleasure and happiness.

It is the result of some notable accomplishment  that you have done or has been done for you. It is long lasting and cannot be matched by any other feeling outside of the love of God.

WHAT CAN WE DO TO OBTAIN JOY?

  1. Let go and let God work in you

Nehemiah 8:10: ...the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Psalms 16:11 (ESV): ...You make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; ...

  1. Abide in the Father's love doing His will

John 15:10-13: ...abide in His [The Father's] love...that my [Jesus] joy might remain in you, that your joy may be full.

  1. Operate the manifestations of holy spirit in you to experience the fruit of joy

Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace,...

[As you speak in tongues much and operated all nine of the manifestations of holy spirit inside of you, you will experience the fruit of the spirit including joy]

  1. Helping others build their faith or believing

Philippians 2:17 & 18: Yea, and if I be offered upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.

For the same cause also do ye joy, and rejoice with me.

  1. Holding forth the Words of Life

Philippians 2:13-16: ... Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

Acts 13:48-53: And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

... But the Jews stirred up [the people of the city] and raised persecution

against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.
