Verse 11:
During the following night, the Lord stood by him ( Paul) and said " Be courageous ( of good cheer in KJV) ,
for as you have testified concerning me at Jerusalem , so you must also bear witness at Rome. "
Thus in verses 1-35 Paul escaped death at the hands of the 40 Judeans by the intervention of the Roman soldiers at Jerusalem.
