In biblical times the most important place in the Jewish society was the Temple. Now this is talking about a physical building but after Jesus Christ resurrection we (The One Body) today are the temple and one way to look at the comparison of the physical temple to the spiritual temple is the outer court area is our physical bodies the inner court area would be our soul life and the Holy of Holies is the spirit that dwells in us!
