What is redemption? What does it mean?

The word "redemption" is a rich word which points to our forgiveness of sins.The word for redemption found in Ephesians 1:7, " In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace"  meant to go to the marketplace and buy a slave who is in trouble and then set the slave free.That's what Jesus did for us.  He came to the marketplace where we have been slaves to sin.  And He paid the price for all our sins, where He forgave us and set us free.

We have entrance, access, and carte blanche privileges into God’s community, God’s presence, and a vital role to play in the body of Christ. There is no distinction in terms of respect or honor for we are all redeemed by the blood of the lamb, and we are all one in Christ.

Redeemed How I Love to Proclaim It by Franny Crosby

1 Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.

Refrain:
Redeemed, redeemed,
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
His child, and forever, I am.

2 I think of my blessed Redeemer,
I think of Him all the day long;
I sing, for I cannot be silent;
His love is the theme of my song. [Refrain]

3 I know I shall see in His beauty
The King in whose law I delight,
Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,
And giveth me songs in the night. [Refrain]
