Jesus' ministry was a walk with the power of the spirit. He only did the will of the Father, and He spent much time in prayer. Today we have received the power from on high to be witnesses to Jesus in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth, even San Diego.
Our Heavenly Father doesn't look at our abilities but looks to see if we are available. By speaking in tongues which was the first evidence of receiving the holy spirit, they spoke the wonderful works of God and had great boldness.
When we walk by the spirit asking the Father who needs to be loved, who needs healing, etc. and listen to His prompting, we will see great signs, miracles and wonders. We want to speak in tongues much to prepare us for the work God has called us to.
