Throughout the history of mankind there have been countless examples of the power of God's will and the weakness of our own.  In the OT especially, we see many records of people, or groups of people, who disregarded the will of God and moved forward in their own power and wisdom.
 
The work of Jesus on our behalf has resolved the conflict between us and the Father, but now we, in a fashion somewhat similar to the OT believer's, must make choices to walk with God and in His wisdom or in our own will and strength.
 
We choose, knowing that God's way provides peace, prosperity and a victorious life.
