The great football coach Vince Lombardi said that "fatigue makes cowards of us all."  In the Christian life too we can become weary and feel like quitting and giving up.  God addresses this many places in His Word, like in Gal 6:9 and in 2 Thess. 3:13, where we are exhorted to not be weary.
Perseverance is being able to do something in spite of difficulty or delay in achieving success.  It is to continue on in the face of obstacles and/or discouragement.
As wonderfully described in Rom. 5:1-5, we have peace with God and therefore a believer can continue with joyful expectation no matter what.  As we have the right attitude of heart, the trials we may currently be experiencing become the springboard upon which spiritual maturity develops.
There is power in love, for it energizes the grace we have so freely received and provides the perspective needed to keep moving forward.
We don't quit, we don't give up..we persevere with the anchor of our soul in place and the peace of God in our joyful hearts.
The glass is not half full, or half empty.  It is overflowing.
