In life, the human tendency is to try to have confidence in one's own strength.  We cannot succeed in the spiritual walk this way.  We must decide every day if we are going to have confidence in God or not.  When we do trust Him completely we will speak openly with freedom to Him and allow Him to help us as only He can.  Correspondingly, there is never a reason to be discouraged for we are children of God.
